My 12yo son and I hiked this one morning while staying at the Lake Quinalt Lodge. Along the south shore, the Lake Quinalt Loop runs past the light towards Willaby Campground. We were able to pick up …Full review by Rachel548

I don’t know why this seems to be rated lower than the Hoh Rainforest. It is beautiful. The trails are well maintained. Access and parking was much easier. We did the actual “Rainforest loop” and th…Full review by KDAA

I enjoyed this short little trail with its interpretive signs, following the river, and then swinging back into the forest with the draping, moss and massive treesFull review by Tansy2015

No. To the best of my knowledge there haven’t been any bear incidents. I do however suggest always hiking in pairs or groups, especially on lesser traveled trails. I am much more concerned about an attack by a cougar. While this is also extremely rare, hiking in pairs is still a good idea.

This is a hard one. We had been to the Hoh Rainforest a number of years ago and planned to go back on our trip last fall (2018). Unfortunately, the day we had planned to visit, the Park Service had begun road construction in the Hoh Rainforest making the area inaccessible. Instead, we stayed at by Lake Quinault. I guess if I could characterize it, I would say that it's a difference between being 'in' the Rainforest vs. 'viewing' the Rainforest. At Hoh, there are longer hikes that go back into the Rainforest. It's a real experience of the lush vegetation and you can really get quite a ways back into the Rainforest. At Quinault, there's a drive around the Lake with a number of shorter hikes and views of some pretty neat water falls. We took most of a day to drive the loop, take a few hikes and look at waterfalls. I suppose that if I had the choice, I'd go to the Hoh Rainforest since it feels to me more like a Rainforest and one gets more immersed in the wilderness. Both are nice though. Hope this helps.
