Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed progressive acute-care facility and medical center that has been serving residents of Southern Nevada since 1971. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services, and has a designated area in the emergency department to treat patients with less serious injuries and illnesses. The hospital has long been referred to as "The Heart Hospital" by long-time residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital is nationally recognized for its diabetes, cardiac, stroke and bariatric surgery programs.
