Lots of room with amazing views at the end of this hike.. moderate hike with only a couple challenging spots.. we hiked with tired legs but had excellent weather end of FebruaryFull review by 408wadea

I did the Calico Basin Overlook. It is just beautiful. I have walked the trail a couple of times before, but this time I just took in the beauty. Ample parking. Toilets available. Dog friendlyFull review by TravelingBum52

Let me start by saying on the day we did this hike it was extremely high winds, which made it a very difficult hike on that particular day. The hike itself is a bit difficult in my opinion. There areā€¦Full review by Steamboat50

Is there public transportation to get there and back from downtown Las Vegas?
A:
No public transportation, but there are lots of tours to Red Rick canyon. You might be able to take an Uber or Lyft also. Tours would be cheaper though.

2 miles in and 2 miles back out for 4 miles total?

Nope. 2 miles round trip, I discovered.
